General Draughting Rates

General draughting is carried out on an hourly basis, and as a guide, preparing an A0 drawing of details takes around 16 to 20 hours.

Unless agreed to in writing, ALL general draughting is carried out on a Pre-Pay basis.

A deposit of 50% of the estimated total is made with the placing of an order, with the balance (including any additional charges) made payment  is made before any drawings are provided. Drawings will be provided as PDF files only, and they will only be able to be viewed on the computer. The drawings will also be watermarked and will not be able to be printed. Once these electronic review PDF files have been approved, then final PDF files will be provided that can be printed, and without the watermark. This will only be done after all outstanding payments have been received, including any adjustments for revisions beyond that which was originally requested.

Please note that these electronic review PDF files have permission to be annotated. These annotations can be added by most PDF viewer programs. Commented PDF files can be e-mailed back with any comments/markups saved to indicate any amendments or revisions to be carried out.

Provision of PDF Files Only

The current hourly rate for draughting where only PDF files are provided is $AUS 92.00 (ex. GST).

Provision of DWG and/or DXF Files

If drawings are required as DWG and/or DXF files, this must be clearly stated before anything is agreed and before any work has commenced. If DWG or DXF files are required, then the client must provide all symbols libraries, setup templates, layer templates, pen colours:pen width mapping, drawing sheet borders, font files, linetype files, etc. Only information that is provided will be used in preparing the drawings.

Also, the client accepts full responsibility for the interpretation of the drawings, as symbols and standards used may not conform to Australian Standards

Because of now having to work with unfamiliar settings and standards, there is a surcharge applied to the preparation of the drawings.

The current hourly rate for draughting where DWG and/or DXF files are provided is $AUS 136.00 (ex. GST).

WAI Engineering can also prepare drawings on a lump sum basis, and can also cap the drawing cost at a mutually agreed figure.  Smaller drawings can take around 3.25 hours, and by using WAI Engineering, you only pay for the time to prepare the drawing. A deposit of 50% of the estimated total is made with the placing of an order, with the balance (including any additional charges) made payment  is made before any drawings are provided.
